Since its creation in 2005, the Committee supported and assisted with many tree plantings in Dallas. Many more tree plantings have been organized by local neighborhood groups with guidance from the committee.
Here are a few tree planting projects UFAC has helped to implement:
- Mockingbird Tree Project trimming of trees
- Skillman Street Fall Foliage Project
- 2007 Mayors Challenge, featuring North Texas Mayors planting several trees in Reverchon Park plus over 100 trees on Katy Trail.

Although much more needs to be done before Dallas is significantly shaded, these tree plantings represent the basic building blocks Dallas is laying to restore and expand the city’s tree canopy.
Many more tree planting projects are planned in the future; however, the Committee and the city need your help. Accept to the CHALLENGE.
